Cellfina cellulite treatment is a relatively new kid on the block. So far the results to remove cellulite with the Cellfina System have been very encouraging. Because of its relatively young age, long term removal studies of the “cottage cheese look” are not yet available. However, women who had this procedure done have been reporting lasting results (some, for over 2 years). Perhaps Cellfina cellulite treatment is “the final answer”, at last.
Cellfina System is a procedure which is intended for a long term reduction and possibly even for a permanent removal of the dimply look on the thighs and butt of so many women. Thus far the application of Cellfina has been evaluated only in the most cellulite-prone areas, namely buttock and thighs, when the condition was moderate to severe. Given how the procedure works, there is every reason to assume that it will be just as effective on other parts of the body where the dimply look is known to surface.
How Does Cellfina Cellulite Treatment Work
In women, cellulite is the herniation of fat and connective tissue which causes the bumpy skin appearance. In other words, its appearance is the result of disruption of an orderly fat and connective fibers distribution under the skin.
Cellfina procedure “corrects” or specifically cuts the connective fibers and allows the fatty globules to “spill out”, so to speak. Severing the fibers results in an even distribution of fat under the epidermis. The surface of the skin on parts of the body where the procedure was applied will become nice and smooth. Let me show you a graphical representation of how the Cellfina System works under the epidermis.
*Image 1. Comparison of normal and cellulite affected skin surface
In the affected area, the skin is pushed out because on one hand, the fat is pushing on the skin (in an outward direction), on the other hand the fibers are pulling the skin in. These push and pull forces create the typical cellulite pockets or dimples.

To correct the “push and pull effect” under the skin, Cellfina “lance like instrument” (red arrow pointing to it) cuts the connective fibers. With the cut, the pressure to pull the skin in is released. The result is a nice smooth skin.
There is no additional treatment, such as melting of the fat cells and smoothing the surface as some other similar techniques use. This procedure is beautifully simple and it seems to work very effectively.
Let me summarize the treatment steps:
- Before the Cellfina system application, the doctor will mark the area to be treated.
- Then the doctor will suction the area up. This gives him a better and more controlled access to the affected area.
- Once the skin is elevated, a lance is inserted underneath the epidermis.
- The Cellfina lance is moved around until the connective fibers, which are causing the puckering are cut.
The procedure lasts about 1 hour, depending on the amount of pockets that need to be treated. (It takes about an hour to service 25 cellulite dimples). After the procedure is done, there is no downtime, you are ready to go.
Initial studies indicated that patient satisfaction was 94% after one year follow up.

Is Cellfina Cellulite Treatment Painful
The procedure is done under local anesthetic. During the process, the only pain the patient feels is the prick of the needle to deliver the anesthetic. After the Cellfina treatment is completed and the anesthetic wears of, according to the patients who underwent the treatment, only minor soreness, tenderness and some bruising are experienced.
How Much Does The Cellfina System Cost And Where To Get It
Cellfina cellulite treatment is only available through the services of a licensed physician.
The cost of Cellfina treatment can range anywhere from $3ooo and up, depending on the severity and the amount of cellulite pockets that have to be treated. The cost will also depend on the market place. In other words, clinic location and the reputability of the clinic where the procedure is done will drive the cost of the treatment.
You have to weigh your cost options. If you want to be treated by the Cellfina method and potentially get rid of cellulite permanently, it is of utmost importance that you do your due diligence. You want a skilled doctor with an untarnished reputation to carry out this procedure.
Although this is only a minimally invasive cellulite treatment, your connective tissue and the fat layer are manipulated internally. You do not want someone to botch the procedure and cause you more problems than you had before.
The cost may seem high but you must remember, that Cellfina cellulite treatment is a one time deal. This method, thus far, seems to produce permanent results.
On May 1, 2015, Dr. Jeremy B. Green appeared on the TV Show ‘The Doctors’ to discuss Cellfina, a revolutionary new cellulite treatment. Dr. Green uses this procedure at his Miami based clinic.
Well, what do think of this new Cellfina cellulite treatment? I am excited. It just may be the answer so many women have been waiting for. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Go ahead a share them in the comments below.
